About the Album

Rosewood and Gray is trio of albums (Volumes 1-3) that blend Rock, Country, and Americana music which follow a deep story arc loosely based on my life and beliefs. If you care to read the narrative of that story, I provide a short story style telling of each song's meaning in the members area.

Though each album contains multi-genre music, Volume 1 is more of a Country heavy album while Volume 2 leans toward the Americana genre (Folk & Classic Country). Volume 3 is more of a Rock dedicated album though it contains what I think are some really good country and folk music songs. Each of the 3 have been recorded, mixed and mastered though I intend to release Volume 2 in 2026 and Volume 3 in 2027.

It’s ironic that the digital age promised a wider appreciation of diversity across multiple barriers yet produced just the opposite: a cacophony of niche genres and a hardening of the barriers between the marquee styles… and political beliefs.  It's all become very black and white; either or; my side or the enemy's side.

Each of the three Rosewood and Gray albums not only ignore those barriers but they also speak to the notion that most things are "shades of gray."

I've already heard the criticisms:  "Your putting out an album that has rock, country and folk songs on it?  Won't people get confused?"  And I’ve also heard people slam my name - to my face... "Ezryn Zyzyx?  Nobody will be able to remember it."  I wonder if Lynyrd Skynyrd heard the same thing? (I know it's a band not a man)

Ezryn Zyzyx

I'm not trying to sell a persona... though that is the status quo in music today.  Thus, the below is a somewhat half-hearted effort to meet that current benchmark of - "listen to my music because I'm interesting."

Still interested?

If you are a reader, I'm a writer... (It is one of my day jobs actually) and thus I have written a lot about these three albums - I provide a narrative for each song as they loosely tell the story of my life, so...
